About Media Shredder
A standard delete on Android simply removes the directory entry — the underlying bytes remain on disk and are recoverable with basic tools. Media Shredder goes further: it overwrites every byte of each file three times with cryptographic noise before deleting it, making recovery substantially harder.
The 3-pass method is similar to DoD 5220.22-M: each file is overwritten with random data, its bitwise complement, then a second fresh random pass — before being permanently removed from the file system. No special file access permissions beyond standard media access are required.
